Making of Little Tux (For Linux 20th Anniversary T-Shirt Design Contest)

     Hi fork ! I'm one of the hardcore Linux user since I was a university student (Well,That's about 10 years ago). Now I working as Embedded Systems engineer and still using Linux as usual. This year is 20th anniversary of Linux and of cause I want to join this celebrate also :)

   

    I think T-Shirt design contest was fun. So, I will make my own style for this. Don't think about the prize and try my best !!

    Ok, What is the concept ? Well,... This year it seems to be 3D year. Started with Avatar movie, 3D Television, 3D mobile device,3D porn ...Whatever !!  Then I decided to make 3D T-shirt of the little Tux penguin that is a mascot of Linux !!!
   How ? Am I a 3D graphic designer? Ha ha ha..Of cause Not ! Have no Idea how to do it but I love making  model using paper clay. So, I will using my basic skill to finish this job...

First, As engineer. I have to draft some requirements and then design the concept. Little Tux will be a chick penguin that will make it look more lovely...Why not ? Girls always love baby penguin ;)

Then, Just making little Tux and birthday cake. I want to put 20 candles into a cake but I think it just go for nothing...Ok. Just 2 candles are enough.

After a day for keeping all stuffs dried and getting hard, It's painting time...

Now all painted. Just setup a studio and take some shot. Left and right eye shot were done and merge them together with GIMP

Oh ! Perfect ... (^^)

Now back to make some real 3D HBD text by using Blender. Nice and Easy...

Blender is the most my favourite 3D model tool ever. 

Finally, I combine all components in Openoffice's Draw and export as JPEG file. Tonight I will submit design and hope everybody will loving it...(^^)
